Murdoc stages the death of noodle to throw rival bands off the scent of a new album. This gave him time to write new songs for the band to preform after noodles death was announced as a fake. The helicopters were supposed to look like they were sent by one of the rival bands that wanted to break up the Gorillaz. 2D and russel did not know about the fake death, only noodle and murdoc knew about it. She escapes the falling island with a parachute.
