Great video! Very informative. Same here, I have never used any of those settings. I never knew what ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture are. Now since I ordered Olympus E-510 and getting it today, I started to read on this stuff. Nice video again, as always by tigerdirect. Thanks!

Yes, the higher the aperture, the lower the depth of field (the more blurred the background will be). The high aperture is associated with lower f-stops. I know, it's confusing. I'm learning a little bit of the TECHNICAL side of photography, too. =P

By the way, I mean on anything kind of technically complicated like this.
But especially for digital photography. :)
I still can't figure out some things, even by reading the manual 100 times.
I'm tired of it... literally...

Eureka!!! Finally somebody have simplified those creeptic terminologies in photography. I never had any idea how simple simple ISO, aperture and shutter speed could be. No, seriously, this is a very helpful tutorial for beginners when it comes to photography. Not only do they learn the rather universal modes of a compact camera, but they learn the meanings of fundamental photographic terms, like aperture, shutter speed and ISO. :)
