Tom has always been against using his music solely for the sake of making a dollar rather than being about the art for its sake that one company that had used his music in a commercial without his permission ultimately ended up paying him in court after he sued them, and even put a full-paged ad in the New York Times just to apologize to him and his fans for having done so. But you are right, Tom is trailer trash. The difference is, that is precisely the quality in which he revels with glee.
