dont get me wrong shes good, but i dont particularly like the opera tone to this song it needs to be soft and tender through the verses, the vibrato and the opera sliding towards notes ruins this song. someone like michael crawford should sing this, but yeah that last note is powerful.

I have to say I can't think of a better person to sing this.
I can't stand the likes of those awful Barbie dolls singing this - like Jessica Simpson....god that's hideous!!!

She has a lisp the entire time... lol. Or a slurr "Ssssss" at the end of every verse pretty much. It's annoying. I also expected this to be softer, not so opera-ey. know what i mean? lol Goshhh. ruined the song for me. Sorry.

She has a lisp? I don't think so. Renee is perhaps the finest soprano on the world's stage today! Nothing angers me more than when, "O Holy Night", perhaps the greatest hymn ever written, has been bastardized by some pop/rock singer. Renee is incredible here!

i don't quite know about this. it kind of kills the song 4 me. i'm not saying she's not talented, but.....the opera tone is kind of harsh 4 such a nice song. at least she hits the notes well.

I really don't understand why people are criticizing her (or other professionals)singing. She is one of the top voices in the business. 160,000 views +. Don't hate. And if your voice was as good as hers (which is most certainly is NOT), then you would probably PRAISE her, and not critique.

Actually, as a music student, there is a lot to be learned from critiquing the work of a professional. They're still human. While Renée's performance is admittedly beautiful, she does make mistakes in this performance.
But isn't that the beauty of it? If we wanted it perfect, we'd have a machine singing it.

What makes her as a current gold standard in Soprano voices is its purity. Note how her voice is not so "Airy" or air filled. It's not fading in high or low pitches
