All of you watching this video and blaming Bob Rock for something need to take a step back. James and Lars mainly took Metallica in this new musical direction. And if you watch enough of this video, you'll see the 5 solid minutes of footage with James and Lars writing and working on this material with that absolute absence of Bob Rock. And say what you want about Bob, but you can't take away his #1 records.

Why did they ALL have to cut their hair? I'm watching Lars in the video and I'm like, "He will have short hair in a few months." (biting nails) Sad. James, the super-mullet, why? Love you man but..ah! Regardless of the haircuts, Load is a great album. Who cares? They're back to making thrash again and they're just a ballsy band. What can I say? They weren't trying to impress anybody in 1996. Kudos to them for veering off into blues-rockland and coming full circle.

Hey I've got breaking Metalica news. That guy who's their manager that calls himself Bob Rock, is really the lead singer from the Goo Goo Dolls.
So now when you go to a Metalica show, you'll see a mix of death metal dudes and a bunch of 13 year old girls with their parents, sceaming for Lars to hit a few tennis balls into the crowd......wha ha ha!!!!

bob rock completely ruined metallica. the black album was good but after that bob just completely brainwashed them in to something else. if you watch the some kind of monster bob starts bitching at the fact that "the band never listens to him" but you'll notice that james hetfeild goes like "whoah" because he finally realizes that bob thinks he's in metallica. thank god that they got rick rubins for death magnetic

Metallica was playing exerpts of Aint My Bitch and 2x4 on the Black Album Tour. After Nirvana basically destroyed 80's metal, Metallica knew they had to take a new direction if they were to survive and keep their fans. Bob just took what they had and made it sound good and commercial. If you're a commercial band like they had become after the Black album, you have to sound like one. I think Bob did better on Load and Reload then on the Black album. Metallica writes the songs. Remember that...
