I was so looking forward to mio Rolando singing Romeo but I have to say that when i saw this in the theater, I didn't miss him that much. Yeah, Alagna has that annoying tendency to sing sharp but he excels in the French rep. Maybe Salzburg will broadcast its R&J. Grand merci, colorturafan.

Je les trouve vraiment géniaux dans ce passage de l'Opéra, j'aurai aimé être au M.E.T. pour les applaudir et les féliciter , car Roberto je l'ai déjà rencontré plusieurs fois.C'est encore plus sexy que dans Manon à Vienne, mais cela leur va si bien et leurs voix se mélangent avec bonheur.Continuez à nous enchanter Anna et Roberto, j'espère avoir la joie de vous voir chanter ensembles.

I was at this performance at the MET and the video doesn't begin to capture the amazing effect of the floating bed over the immense MET stage filled with stars! It was fantastic. And as the lovers realize they must part, the bed descends and Verona is seen again in the distance. Brilliant. Alagna & Netrebko were riveting and the death scene was heart rending.

La Netrebko, abile "intrigante" dopo aver ed essere rincorsa da Villazòn in boxer nella famosa Traviata di Salisburgo qui si avvinghia al bel Robertò anch'esso in mutande. In una recente Manon, sempre lei, passa vogliosamente la mano sul petto irsuto di Alagna. Sotto al prossimo....

Both seem like very experienced lovers...Alagna quite mature and Netrebko nothing innocent: BUT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE FIRST LOVE NIGHT AFTER THEIR WEDDING! Don't make me laugh...The singing is fine, production seems okay.

i don't understand how alagna changed from a nice and ugly italian guy into an unbelievable sex bomb like this...
the scene and the performance is very romantic and intimate: that is what shakespeare ment with this scene, and it doesn't lack sex at all...
