Kosovo is a part of Serbia, simply because that part of territory by law belongs to the Republic of Serbia. This is guaranteed by the valid, recognized acts and documents which constitute the international law today (e.g. the UN Charter, Resolution 1244), and the Serbian Constitution. These basis are exactly the same as those on which the USA base their sovereignty in Florida for example, or Switzerland in any of its cantons, etc. (continued below).
