I'm 40 ish now, bought the uncut version a week ago and finally managed to watch the dvd on my new KEF surround system (Pioneer LX60 amp). it's been 24hrs since i watched it and i'm still moved by this movie... it brought back so many memories since I last watched it 24 years ago when i was a kid. you must play the new HD version on a high high Fi... moving!

I just got the final cut BLade Runner sounds sexy with the Vangelis music on my Arcam and B&W setup got the DVD new for £4.99 what a bargin the film looks newer than films that have only just come out.

What is surprising about the film is that it shows a future that is a repetition of history. The Los Angeles of 2019 is like a future version of London during the Industrial Revolution. Both are heavily polluted, both have societal problems, and both advocate colonialism to offer citizens a way out of local misery (i.e. remember the "Off-world colonies" ad in Blade Runner, compare that with British advocacy for emigration to Canada). This shows that Blade Runner is a kind of a "historic future".

Oh it was! So much so, in fact, that it actually didn't do all that well at he box-office. The sound track, however, was loved from the get-go. Thankfully there were enough people out there who understood the movie to keep it going all these years. It may very well be more popular now than it was in 1982! Has dark as it is, it ultimately is a movie about hope!

There are no 'graphics' here. It's all done using models and lighting. I agree with you though. Modern movies use far too much CGI. Things which could be done with real action.

Sure CGI is great, but this movie still holds it's own pretty good considering it's 26+ years old!
Everything about this movie was so far ahead of it's time. Still not sure time as actually caught up to it yet either.
