Maybe, possibly, during idle at a stop light an hho generator might add a very little amount of energy back into the vehicle that's being wasted - but then again - the energy is not being used anyway so it's not needed in the first place.

3. provide costs of installing and maintaining the solar panels (they just don't jump on your roof and mount themselves and run their own wires, do they?)

Elaborate on the cost effectiveness of these solar panels.

Let's look at the cost of a gallon of gas vs 1 kg of hydrogen. A gallon of gas costs about $3.50 here today. To produce an equivalent amount of hydrogen from electricity it takes about 70 kWh. Now my summer rates for electricity is $.15 per kWh so that would cost me (70 kWh * $.15 per kWh) = $10.50 for the same.
Let's say that it was possible to produce hydrogen from solar electricity. The energy produce could be sold for $10.50 on the grid vs producing 1 kg of hydrogen. What is more profitable, selling the power outright or changing it into expensive hydrogen?
How long and how much would it take to make enough hho to drive from California to Florida? About a month of constant seperation? (if one gets 30 miles per gallon/kg of hydrogen it will take 2 hours to make enough hho (at 70 kWh) to drive one hour) jmh states that 'ALL' hho can be produced at home. How many working stations are available 'at home'? None within 100 miles of my place.

to see what industry is using to produce hydrogen? IF Meyer had an inkling of effecient hydrogen production it would be in mass production today. Meyer's method not being in production speaks volumes on it's value.
