| Not my favorite Elvira, but she can certainly sing it. Her voice is just too French sounding to do this...or maybe French isn't the word I'm looking for. Anyway, I prefer others but she does well here. |

| way too slow at times, especially the very end orchestral part. dessay's voice has gone through considerable decline, as it's overdone and nasaly (in an almost throaty way) now, and it was once soooo beautiful. i think at one point this would have been great repertoire, but now it isn't at all. sad, but true, because i'm a huge dessay fan, just not of her voice now. i'm a fan of what was... kind of like the callas fans who were at the '64 tosca at covent garden. you're there for what was, not is |

| Her voice is less high-pithched and not as powerful as she was. However all professionals agree to say her voice is more colourful, more lyrical. I understand you miss the queen of coloratura she was, but I think you can't say her voice is less beautiful. |

| I miss the absolute ease with which she used to sing everything. She's struggling too much with the music for my taste, and her vibrato is too loose. The middle is is still beautiful, though. |
