This is brilliant. I'm just about half way through reading the book by Deborah Curtis and it's really hard to put down.
I also think it's amazing how much the actor looks like Ian himself, excellent casting :)

The more I watch movies dealing with music the more I think that Cinema is a minor art. Besides, the fact to expose publicly the supposed life of someone without his/her permission is ethically highly questionable even if it's not for commercial purposes.

The first song is "She's Lost Control", but it's a different version, recorded in March 1980.
The song beginning at 0:35 is "Love Will Tear Us Apart", and the last song is the brilliant "Atmosphere".

This was one of the best films i've ever seen.
Much, much better than 24 hour party people, yes, I know it was more about factory records than joy division/ian curtis.
But my god, anton corbijn really captured them well.

a sex pistols gig dragged these boys to make anything new in those days... they were joy division.. how Corbjin knew these guys in the past and the tribute that he made to the band... who is gonna make a tribute to cORBJIN.. His work has been around our generatio in the last two decades!

the movie "24 hour party people" is an insult to the memory of Ian Curtis. "Control" is just as bad as a biopic can be, if you want to know this guy better, just listen to his words and music, all the rest is irrelevant.
