Because it's kids. They did it shot for shot. No money (well about $850 bucks over the course of several summers). No FX company. Just three innocent, passionate kids acting out their dreams in a documented labor of love. You're right...it's not a big deal.

I just watched it.
Truly amazing.
Thanks to Speilberg for not suing. Because, he has to understand that these kids were really passionate and they didn't make it for profit. Pure summer enjoyment, so that from years to come they can crack it out and be proud.

I watched the movie twice now. It's, hands down, the best fanmade-movie erver made! Although I was sad when I saw that the scene with the Big Nazi and the plane wasn't in it, the awesome truck-scene more then made up for that:]
