AnyColourTheyLike, I love this song as much. I also have Niemen's CDs in my car and when people hear him sing, they ask me about him and are amazed that they have never heard about him but he was independent and modest
and didn't want international fame.

I am sory, somehow I added unfinished comment.
Niemen was always a deep, soulful person and his life could be an example for anyone. I Lived in Poland for 26 years and have been to few of his concerts, I followed his career for about 14 years before I left and never had a negative thing to say about him. He was such an incredible personality and artist. He was changing and growing as a person and was always modest and independent, a very strong person. Where do you live?

Bodosunra, I lived in Poland 26 years, always loved his music and his voice and like you,
enjoy him even more now. I just ordered 4 of his CDs from aPolish CD store in Canada. I think that in many ways who a person is inside is reflected in his music, if he is deep and sensitive, so is usually his music. I live in Oakland, California.

Ale mało z taką skalą głosu, sedno tkwi w tym żeby umieć sobie jeszcze samemu skomponować, dokonać aranżacji i zagrać i nie dać sie wciągnąć nurt muzyki popularnej, ponieważ jeśli czymś sie ktoś nie wyróżni to ginie w ogromie propozycji. Ostatnio pojawił się Michał Gasz, głos, skala niesamowita jak u Niemena ale co z tym zrobi jak wykorzysta możliwości które dostał od natury nie wiadomo. Żeby tak tworzyć trzeba nie tylko głosu ale też siły charakteru żeby przetrzymać krytykę głupich ludzi.

I don't think the old Polish poet would say it in such a way, would sound rather un-poetic and trivial. Maybe some teenager to his girfriend would say it this this way, this is a more poetic language which should be translataed in a similar way. Believe me, I speak English quite well in spite of being a transplant from Poland and I am also familiar with Polish petry and language. Or was your statement just a way of getting me to talk to you? One can never be sure.
