i had a t2 and the difference to the t3 is very small.
And the tidings are dull.

Colour me unimpressed. Sure, there's a few nice voices that might impress the home-user enough to part with their two-grand, but it's got nothing that will have pro-users giving up their Roland G-70 or E-80.

I just made it really fast with tyros 1 few years ago when one of my students gave it to me for 15 days for a try. Actually I did an entire album demo for a jazz 5tet (bass, perc,drums,soprano, piano)only with T1 sounds and a sequencer just for fun and because it was so realistic for the 1st time ! I can't imagine the result with T3 ! I think about releasing it one day...

Take into concideration the sound quality is YOUTUBE MONO. And so many demonstrators for these Keyboards/Synths are amazingly skill, but knows shit about what sounds cool, and end up playing something youd hear in a shut down tranceclub or a cruise for old people.

It does sound AMAZINGLY realistic, even better than the Motif series. But I have to wonder...who are these keyboards for? It costs at least $3000. Jamming in your home by yourself? Solo lounge musicians in hotel lobbies? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, just wondering...is it just an expensive toy?

Solo lounge musicians in hotel lobbies maybe...the microphone/USB features make it so you can record your own backing tracks, cut a demo and what not. But yeah, expensive, self-indulgent toy is right.

Well some spend 100x as much on a boat, $3000 is nothing, there are much more expensive hobbies around. I agree it is a bedroom toy, but if you have a tune in your head, such a thing is the best place to develop it and store.

You can't think that way...To a millionaire $3k is chump change, to a poor man it's a fortune. To a rich CEO a $50k car is a bargain, to someone less fortunate it's too expensive.
My point was - FOR WHAT IT IS, is it a $3k toy or not; do people actually do anything creative with them, or are they just things to play a bit of U2 on. I think CrocodileRocker below said it best, it's a self-indulgent toy. The perfect Christmas present, right? :)
