The reason that Russian weapons are seen all around the world is because wen the Soviet Union fell there was complete dissary in government and military. So some of Russias "loyal" generals sought to make a profit and "alowed" arms dealers to buy the weopons that were suppose to arm the soldiers for the war that never happend. These weapons, ranging from AK-47's to tanks and combat helicopters, were sold to those countrys who aren't capable of producing these weopons themselves.

I'm an armorer in the U.S. Army. I have an AK-47 as a personal weapon because it's nearly indestructable. The major disadvantage is the accuracy which is only good to about 150m where the M-16 can reach out to about 500m. over all the AK is the better close quarter/man stopper. OH! and to the commenter above yes Greman H and K's are the best!

I tell you why everyone buy Russian guns, because American guns are piece of shit. AK-47 is resistant to the sand and sand storms (perfect for Middle East), you don't need special tools for reassembly... If you are cought in a sand storm with M16 you can only throw it at enemy.
