I'd rather be using a much older and mature kernel than a new and untested one.
This is why every other OS you can use now is based on Unix, the only real exception being Windows.

It is very obvious, but not many people could find the side bar in the older versions. Although, in this one, I believe you can return it back to the drawer view.
