As to Woody Allen, feh!
Where did you hear these things about Mark Twain. He may, indeed have felt whites were superior to blacks, but if you read "Huckleberry Finn" you will find a very sympathetic attitude towards black slaves. He was certainly against slavery. I don't know his politics, and I don't care if he was a Mason. So are a lot of prominent people.
But Ezekiel 18:20 says, "The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father."
My personal choice in this case is old Zeke. Punishing anyone other than the transgressor is unjust.
