Yes, early Silverfaces are usually much better than the later ones, but it was the ultra-linear OTs and master volumes that ruined the later SF amps; the Deluxe wasn't affected by either of these changes. Fender did add a boost pull switch in 1977 that negatively affected the tone, but most SF Deluxes out there don't have this. My big problem with modern Fenders is the printed circuit board and especially the way the tube sockets plug into the PCB. They're not nearly as tough as the old ones.

These amps do not have vibrato. They have tremolo effect, which is the volume going up and down. Vibrato is pulsating changes in pitch. This guy doesn't have his facts straight and I'm starting to question his guitar playing abilities as well.

Fender accidently called it vibrato, aswell as called the vibrato bar on a guitar the tremelo bar.
And you should be watching it for the tone, not really the playing aswell. Most of these guys aren't amazing players; if they were, they'd be gigging and all that, not doing this.

If he setup the amp for a nice tone I would have overlooked his short comings and maybe I would have enjoyed the video. But because of his lack of knowledge about the amp, and the way he chose to set it up, the tone is not that great. Therfore, I commented the way I did.

sooperkula and postmasterflex must be good friends with or themselves be the actual makers of this fairly lame video. If for some insane reason I or any of our watchers had never seen or heard of a Deluxe Reverb amp, this video would never sell me or anyone else on it. And that is a fact. End of story.
