yes, it has everything to do with Islam, this is the sufi dance where a pure sufi soul dance in the name of Allah and get get lost in his conciousness. This is sufisam. Please educated yourself first before you make a fool of yourself. two year colleges always offer classes about Isam so consider it, and learn more despite the fact that your a AntiIslam, but still learn the insights story about who we really are. The Dervich dance came from a branch of Islam known as Sufism. There are several mosques in Brooklyn which you can google and get the phone numbers to. There is a chance that one of them may have a group that does "dhikr" or Sufi dance, which is done for the remembrance of Allah God. Most likely they do not do this if they are conservative in their religion. If there is a group that does it, it might be only men. There may be Sufi dance groups outside of Islam, but this is away from the origin.
