dont get a shock clear shell. get the kind lilazanboy13 has. it has the ds logo, official stickers, doesn't scratch, a clear stylus holder, clear stylus, clear gba protector thing, and is way cheaper.

i've self-soldered wii modchips before and it was about 15x easier to dissasemble/reassemble the wii than it is to replace a ds shell
unless you have a large amount of experience working with small electronics i'd say avoid doing this
one nick in a wire or one accident and your DS is fucked
and trust me... its VERY easy to ruin wires, they arent made to be taken apart, especiallt flatwires those things shred like paper unless you have a very steady hand when unplugging them

or buy one pre-cased
some sites offer case mod instalation for a good price
from my experience i can say, if you have ANY doubt in installing anything to a console, DON"T DO IT
i know someone with a small stack of bricked wii's he recieved from people who screwed up installing a modchip and messed up
just avoid it if your not competent in handling microelectronics

To be honest, from what I have read, the shock cases aren't made of very good material, certainly not as strong as those made originally for the DS, and are only useful for repairing your DS if it breaks, I wouldn't advise changing the cover if its functions perfectly normally.

ebay, i got a tri wing, and a phillips screwdriver that are good quality for use on the ds lite for about 8 bucks with shipping.
