Really? I heard the duckling goes through a lot more hell. First being ostracized from a farm (despite the mother duck trying to accept him), then he runs into all kinds of strangers (not including birds or a wooden duck I think). And please correct me if I'm wrong, the time span of the story stretches much further.

this story is not exactly the true one. H.C.Andersen - danish writer - from the 19th century has wrote the true one. One day after a cold winther the duck sees himself in the water and finds out that he is a svan - the danish national bird.
